The 6th Civil Chamber of the Court of Cassation ruled that the provisions of the Turkish Code of Obligations on eviction for housing need may, in practice, also cover the need for a summer residence as an extension of the need for permanent housing. The lower court's dismissal of the case — without examining whether the property in question was in fact a summer residence, and based solely on the reasoning that "need for a summer residence cannot constitute grounds for eviction" — was deemed an incomplete examination and was reversed.
